Privacy policy

1. At a glance

We take the protection of your personal data seriously and process it only in line with the law (GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act BDSG and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act TDDDG). This website uses no cookies, no advertising tools and no third-party analytics. When you send a search, we save what you searched for together with the country and region your connection comes from, but not your name and not your IP address (section 4). Only if you agree do we also count visits and clicks with our own measurement (section 6). Below you will find exactly what happens and which rights you have.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (Covina, California, USA) and delivered through its global network. Each time you visit, the host automatically processes information that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system and the previously visited page (referrer). These log data are used to provide the website securely, quickly and reliably and to fend off attacks; they are not combined with other data and are deleted after a short time. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Vercel processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Where data are transferred to the USA, the transfer is safeguarded by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR); where the provider is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the transfer is additionally based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). More information: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

4. Your searches

While you type, the search runs only in your browser; nothing is transmitted. Only when you send a search (by pressing enter, clicking the arrow or choosing a suggestion) do we save:

Our host derives country and region from your IP address at the moment of the request. We do not save the IP address itself, set no cookies, do not link searches to each other or to a person, and create no profiles. The purpose is to learn which problems people want solved, and where, so that we know which guides to create next. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in planning our products according to demand (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Please do not enter personal information such as names, email addresses or phone numbers into the search box.

The searches are stored in a database operated for us by Supabase Inc. on servers in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Should Supabase staff outside the EU need access for technical support, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). As a saved search cannot be traced back to you, we keep it for as long as it helps us plan our catalogue; for the same reason we cannot find a specific entry for you later (Art. 11 GDPR).

To prevent automated abuse, the server limits how many searches can be sent per connection. For this it keeps a shortened, non-reversible checksum of your IP address in its working memory for up to ten minutes; it is never written to a database (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

5. Fonts

All fonts on this website are delivered from our own server. No content is loaded from Google Fonts or any other third party.

6. Usage measurement (only with your consent)

If you choose “Accept” in the box at the bottom of the screen, we record how our website is used: the pages you view, the website or campaign link you came from (for example a search engine or a link with campaign parameters), your device type, operating system and country, how long you actively use a page (in steps of 20 seconds), how far you scroll, which links and buttons you click and roughly where on the page, and whether a search you typed found a guide. This measurement does not record what you type into the search box; saved searches are described in section 4 and are not linked to it.

We use no cookies for this. Each open tab gets a random session number that exists only while the tab is open. In addition, the server calculates a visitor code from your IP address, your browser identifier, the current date and a secret key, and keeps only part of the result. The code changes every day at 4 a.m. (German time), so visits on different days cannot be linked, and it cannot be traced back to your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored. To keep our own visits out of the statistics, the server checks whether a visit comes from one of our own internet connections; nothing is stored about you in the process.

We use the data only to understand which content is helpful and to improve our website and our guides. They are stored in the database described in section 4 (Supabase, Frankfurt am Main, Germany) and are not passed on to third parties for their own purposes. We delete them as soon as they are no longer needed for this evaluation.

The legal basis is your consent (§ 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). If you choose “Decline” or make no choice, nothing is recorded. You can change your choice at any time with effect for the future via “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page; after a withdrawal, the measurement stops immediately.

7. Cookies and storage in your browser

This website sets no cookies and uses no advertising services (such as Google Ads tracking or the Meta Pixel) and no third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics). Your choice in the measurement box is saved in your browser’s local storage (entry “g99_messung”) so that we do not ask again on every visit; you can delete it at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser. A marker in your browser’s session storage prevents a reload loop after website updates; it contains no personal data and is deleted when you close the tab. Both are strictly necessary for the service you use and need no consent (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).

8. Buying a guide

Our guides are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as reseller (merchant of record). When you click “Get the guide”, you go to the Lemon Squeezy checkout; your purchase contract, the payment, the invoice and the VAT are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Nothing is loaded from Lemon Squeezy before you click. Lemon Squeezy is based in the USA and is responsible for the data you enter at checkout; its privacy policy applies (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy), and its terms of sale can be found at lemonsqueezy.com/buyer-terms.

To deliver the guide and to handle questions and refunds (including our money-back guarantee), we can see the details of your order in Lemon Squeezy: your name, email address, country, the guide you bought, the price, the tax and the date. We use them only for these purposes (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and to meet our legal accounting obligations (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR); we do not use your email address for advertising. We delete these details once they are no longer needed for these purposes, unless statutory retention periods apply.

The link to our Instagram profile (@get99skills) is a plain link. Visiting this website does not transmit any data to Instagram. Data are only transferred when you follow the link; the privacy policy of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Dublin, Ireland, then applies.

10. Contacting us

If you email or call us, we process your details to handle your request and any follow-up questions (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). We delete your message once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.

11. Encryption

For security reasons, this website uses TLS encryption. You can recognise it by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser’s address bar. Data you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

12. Your rights

You have the right at any time to:

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then stop processing the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

To exercise your rights, simply send an email to office@rvertising.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Datenschutzzentrum Saarland, Fritz-Dobisch-Straße 12, 66111 Saarbrücken, Germany.

13. Retention and changes

Unless a more specific retention period is stated above, personal data remain with us until the purpose of processing no longer applies or you withdraw consent or make a justified request for erasure. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place. We update this policy when the website or the law changes; the version published here applies.
